Thank you sir! You have fixed my abs light problem!!!

The only thing I did different is use some actual wire and soldered it in.

Also you must disconnect the battery for the light to turn off!

I did this to my car about 4 years ago after I bought it. I didn't really know what I was doing and I was pretty broke. Instead of using a soldering iron all I had was a gas stove in my kitchen. I used the stove to heat the fork until it was red hot then I used the fork to heat the relay, then I reheated the fork and melted the solder. I repeated this process many times. I put the relay back in and the light hasn't come on since.

If I had to do it again, I would just get a new relay.

If someone could post some more pictures of where exactly you're supposed to solder, that'd be pretty helpful. I soldering in a thin strand of copper wire, but I think I used the wrong points..

Man I sure could have used this info a month ago. I got the relay for $20 though.

alright, i have a strange problem...

in my e28, sometimes the light is on, sometimes its not. but the abs works all the time.

its kind of sketchy, but i'm not sure how good abs was back then. upon the application of full braking it will lock the tires for about 10 feet, then lock, unlock, lock , unlock; leaving about 5 foot stripes until it comes to a stop.

is that how its supposed to work? in newer cars its more of a stuttering of the pedal, and the tires never fully lock.

The tires do lock or rather partially lock in newer cars. Wheel speed sensors sense lockup, it is just highly temporary. ;)
