im not sure this was on a sony cyber shot ie point and click camera using the movie feature, but i have a larger rebel 35mm camera but i could definately mount it and see if it seems to bounce more often or anything

I know the u clamps around the headrest posts are really tight on mine. It's not moving. As long as the headrest itself doesnt bounce around, and your tubing is strong enough there should be no problems. For a heavier camera, even some steel 1x1 could be used, I used aluminum because its lighter and easier to work with for the v1.0 mount (mine :P). A quality tripod head that doesn't bounce the camera at all either would help, mine was a cheapo one so i just put a roll of tape around the camera to keep it from shaking. The swing up release part so I can get at the thumb screw for the camera mount shakes a little, but Chris' doesn't. He bought a better one :)

it looks like something that stabs the driver threw the jugular in the event of accident.

lol. Kind of the reason I made it out of aluminum too for the backkseat drivers if they smack it. It'll bend super easy. Im not going to be flying into it from the side TJ :)

I have mine mounted on the driver's seat so in the event of an accident it stabs the passenger instead.

You could always mount it across both seats if you want more stability...

I imagine that if you used some rubber bike tire tubing (or something similar) you could do away with a lot of potential vibrations. Just slip it into the U-clamps on the headrests and presto, instant vibration reduction.

there's no need for this. mine worked well.

i was going to point this out. i had it originally on the pass seat until one day i realized, helmet and all, this thing is going to impale me one day so i moved it to the driver's side. Problem with this was, with passengers, DE instructors and stuff i couldn't use it.. i'm getting a cage soon so problem solved ;)

So the DE instructors didn't allow it or was it simply because you couldn't get any footage with two people sitting up front?

you can get footage. that, i've done.. but driving with a lance at your side freaks them out. hell, it freaked me, hence i put it on the driver's seat. Its just unsafe for whomever faces the tip of it imo.

if you have a passanger, BUT you have rear head rest's this would be able to mount on the rear headrests. just would need to zoom in further.

                                just my thoughts
