    m20b25 Maf conversion

    Gday again.
    Compiled all the parts required for the Haltech Elite 1500 to be installed on my little NA m20b25. Only thing left to sort out is MAF. Is it necessary?

    Any recommendations on what to use? I've seen references to a discontinued Bosch unit #0280218032 but that's about all I can find.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    no use the inbuilt map sensor
    89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

      Thanks again Digger. Plans changed significantly since my last post in 2020. Ended up just getting the stock crank cleaned up and polished, rods polished and balanced, arp throughout, went 84.5mm mahle pistons and a Bimmerheads ss885. Runs fairly well on the stock ecu. Bought an Elite 1500 with their premium harness, ic7 dash, wideband, LS coils, m50 tps and adapter plate, bunch of sensors, fuel reg etc mrt trigger cover for the cam etc. All here ready to go. Booked in with Matt Sims performance for the install and tune next month and mtech2 bodykit and paint the following month. Will definitely upload a thread on it once it's actually looking decent lol

        why not elite 750?

        im going to update to an elite, i will be repinning to use the same harness as my current "PNP" ecu which is an old Wolf V500

          I'm curious to see what a 2.5 with some mods and a standalone will make power wise. What boxes did you tick for your supersport head (cam, springs, valves, rockers, etc.) Did you raise the compression?

            I ticked all the boxes (hd Rockers, double valve springs etc) plus optioned the Schrick cam. I actually went slightly lower comp and mls as I intend to boost it later this year.

            Digger, just went 1500 under recommendation from a mate of mine. Probably could have got away with a 750. Not particularly well versed on the computer side of things.

              Schrick 280/274 Camshaft

              MLS head gasket
              Gates timing belt n pulley
              New OEM water and oil pumps

              Exhaust - Na setup
              Hartge H23 Stainless Alpina style headers
              Twin 2" collectors into
              Redback 2.5" high flow cat
              Stainless hotdog

              Remus rear muffler

              Bottom End - 1990 325i Block dipped and cleaned throughout, new sleeves
              325i crank & rods balanced
              84.5mm Mahle Ultimate forged 325i pistons (0.5mm overbore)
              ACL race rod and main bearings.

              RHD Chromoly lightened flywheel
              Stage 2 sports clutch and plate
              Z3 short shift and throw kit
              Garagistic DSSR and billet knuckle
              Z3 steering rack
              Hillside reinforced engine crossmember
              Hillside reinforced rear subframe
              Hillside reinforced trailing arms

              To be installed in may:
              Elite 1500 with ic7 dash

                Arent the Mahle ultimate forged 325i pistons are for 2.9L ? or are they doing them for stock crank now?

                  Works fine on my end lol

                  I'm guessing I should probably change to a bigger injector (currently running a new set of oem 325i bosch units) but I suppose we'll find out when tuning.

                    normally the 1500 is for 4cylinder (4 injector and 4 ignition outputs) and 750 is suited to old school NA 6 cylinder more of an ecomony option without bells and whistles . Can still run a 6 on 1500 in batch injection and waste spark

                      I have the same head. Except I used their 280/274 cam.
