    D585 Wasted COP w/MS2 PNP

I've been running wasted spark with GM DIS 3800 coils and Quadspark on my M20T with MS2PNP for a few years now and I'd like to move away from Quadspark. My first Quadspark grounded out internally and the replacement I was sent overheats after 2-3 hours of sustained highway load even with a large heatsink.

In striving to make this setup as reliable as possible with off the shelf components, I'd like to switch to D585 coils in a wasted COP configuration. With these "smart" coils, is the MS logic level spark output strong enough to trigger the D585 ignitor? For example, Spark A would be wired to trigger the coil packs on Cylinders 1 and 5?

If I'm understanding that correctly, are there any issues with this setup I should be aware of?

there are people running stock ignition system with same single coil and running lots of boost without any problem. There is no need to complicate things just so that it can look good under the hood

I appreciate the feedback. The stock system has a limit, the D585 coil packs are able to be triggered by logic level outputs. I was able to do this conversion for $100 and a trip to the junkyard, this is a cost effective strong spark solution for those running Megasquirt.

Refer to the wiring diagram here:
EFI, Fuel Injection, Auto, automotive, car, TPI, computation, ECU, MegaSquirt, GPIO, MicroSquirt, Sequencer, stim, MegaShift, MShift, DIY, transmission, 4L60E, 4L80E, controller, shifter

        And pairing here:

You are pairing cylinders that move together with wasted spark first then choosing driver order based on firing order.

Elaborate on "lots of boost" because in my experience with a completely overhauled system the stock system cannot keep up with even moderate boost (1bar with a medium sized turbo) and will misfire as soon as the plugs are not in absolutely perfect condition. I was daily driving a turbo E30 for a long time.
