    Diy mspnp2

I've tried and tried and tried some more to get the car just to crank up with this MSPNP2. It's stumbled around a bit finally. I'm throwing in the towel.

I've MSPNP2, usb serial adapter, al bung IAT sensor wiring kit, 6 tower coil pack, 4 position weather pack connector for ING-6 coils, crimp terminals,Quad-spark 4-channel ignition driver box, Innovate LC-1 set up.

All will be listed for sale.

were you able to flash the firmware yourself or connect to tunerstudio? And did you try to make a tune from scratch or download a base tune?

yea I flashed it, and used the base tune through tuner studio. Downloaded it off the DIY site. Checked the timing like they said but can't get it to run long enough to do more checks. It's running fine with the stock ECU so I'm leaving well enough alone.

I used the startup file found on this page for my '90iX

BMW E30 1987-1993 E30 / E32 / E34 MSPNP Pro PNP ECU / Plug and Play Standalone ECU / Engine Management System, installs for most in under an hour.

I had to open it in a second tuner studio window and copy each setting to my megasquirt. It idled fine and we drove it without the tps connected. I guess it can run on MAP (vacuum). We only used it a couple times because I had other troubles with the car that needed more attention.

I built mine at home. It is a V3 board MS2 running MS2/Extra.

I don't have a simulator. I read through the page you posted. Did you have it connected to the car when you did the above? I don't have an alternative power supply set up.

I'm pretty confused with the whole thing now.

You said you opened a second TS window and copied over to your MS.

Could you pm me a real basic step by step if you recall it.

            Thanks.

basically I connected TS to my ms2/extra. I then opened another TS window with the file from diyautotune (TS will tell you that you can open the file in read-only but that's fine since you are only reading it). And yes, it takes time so I would suggest connecting your MS to atleast a 9v battery and do this at a desk.

if you're trying to learn megasquirt without a stimulator, you're just shooting yourself in the foot. get one. preferably a jimstim since it can simulate the E30's crank signal.

Not the easiest with the PNP setups as they don't have the DB37 connector. You have to cut the 55pin connector from an old harness and wire it to the terminal blocks of the Stim so you can only use the JimStim.
