Hi all, any recent installs or opinions on these chinese mufflers? They were all over ebay for a while, my stock muffler has an annoying rattle probably from a rusted baffle. Debating whether to cut up/gut muffler or buy a cheap replacement. Would like a little more sound too, thanks in advance.
Any feedback on new SS cat backs from China?

It's the catback IE has been selling for years. I've used it, slightly louder than stock, fitment is fine. Solid cheap option
Muffler rusts out internally relatively quickly (think 5+yrs), but who owns anything long term these days -
Too funny, report back in 5yrs and let us know how it's holding up!Comment

Is your profile location accurate? If so I grew up 30mins from you and have likely seen your car at some point. I was in town often for JMFab, the Sellersville Theater and the Perk for cheesesteak night lolComment

How does it rust out if it's stainless? What am I missing?
TimK Did you receive and install this yet? If so, what do you think of it?Comment

muffler baffling isn't stainless and rusts- also the actual stainless used isn't great so it'll eventually surface rust

The Alibaba listing said "usa stock" but wasn't true, trying to get tracking updates or general ETA. Gonna give it another 7-10 days and then will probably cancel and live with what I have for now...
I feel like any exhaust rust issues are moot for me now, if I drive it, the car gets driven enough to burn off moisture.Comment

Well I pulled the trigger on this one. Exhaust selection seems pretty sparse right now, and although it's not the cheapest (but not far off), I suspect it's the best bang for buck. I'm hoping it's as quiet as I expect.Comment

Alright, an update. It arrived here Monday, 13 days after ordering. It was a bit of a surprise as the FedEx tracking number never activated. I installed it today. Fitment is pretty good, but not perfect. On my stock exhaust, the flanges perfectly slip over the flared exhaust tube ends, not so on the stainless exhaust, which meant I need bolts about 1/4" longer to get it bolted together. Easy fix. Additionally, I forgot to note how my stock exhaust fit, but this one seems to want to sit a bit to the left within the exhaust opening in the valence (see photo). Not really sure how to center it short of some cutting and welding. Also, this exhaust is two pieces, and has included clamps which have a carriage bolt and nut to tighten it. It really needs a washer, as well. Overall, for an inexpensive aftermarket part from China, really not too bad.
As far as sound. I only have my rusty stock exhaust to compare to, but it's a massive improvement. I don't know if it's as quiet as a factory exhaust, but it's plenty quiet. Maybe a little of a drone around 1800-2000rpm, as it seems to get slightly louder there, but no big deal. I'm happy with it.

I don't know how to embed it, so here's a link to a quick sound clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NJALsH-zIIComment
