Junkyards are good, but some won't sell them because it is illegal to sell used in some states (or all). One option you have is to just get a high flow aftermarket one. It would be a lot cheaper than a new stock one.

thats the most expensive part on the car.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

+1.... Last time i put a cat on one of my cars, i bought a high flow one from catco. Then 6 months later i took it off and said screw it. I don't like cats on any of my cars. But if you want a cat, do like Mike325 said and get a aftermarket cat.

Eh, I dont want universal. I want what was made for my car. I just want it to sound decent and run right and not be ghetto rigged.

Then youll have to spend the $1400 on that cat.

a universal cat will be less restrictive, cheaper, and lighter. I don't see a downside there?

you can also send your old cat to this place:

which will pay for the new one entirely. the E30 counts as "euro large" afaik
