    headers

Hello Revlimited. im looking for get another set of headers. right now im useing MSDS shorty headers. but the downpipe on them hangs too low and my car is slammed. it hangs too low to the point where every speed bump i go over no matter how or what angle i go into it. its drags. and the results to that... well its broke the flange to the header. I dont know if its wroth gettin its welded back in place and rerouting the down pipes or what. and i was looking at ebay headers and i found a few longtubes. and im tryin to see if anybody had any problems with it being low. or fittmet issues.

    have any body have these?

and these look like that would hang low and drag but i don't know.

also the IE shorty headers do they hang low as well?

i can take pictures to show how low they hang if anybody needs them.

to me sound, performance and flow would be for any engine and m20. because they """"suppose"""" to flow better then stock. and if they suppose to flow better then stock then your performace in my eye should increase i dont know how much of an increase but it should go up and is it worth the money? it depends on how much they cost. getting headers no more then 350 form like ebay used or some shorty yes to me its worth the money. is it worth the money buying name brand long tubes that cost like 1K and up. then no cuz your not gettin that much performace from the headers. i belive you will get more out of it with an 325i or better or modded head then you would an E. my head will be changed in a few months with mods. but i did feel a diffrence wit my msds shorty headers but only a dyno will only prove that. and to me sound alot better. plus i only spent 200. used. i belive they are 275 new.

but that wsn't my main concren on my thread not to me a jerk or anything but i just need to know if these other headers hang to low. if anybody else is experiencing the same problem that i have.

Don't bother with anything other than mid/long tube headers.

And on a stockish engine don't expect a big gain.

your shorty headers shouldnt hang low, they have to have some custom work to fit them right, so you should be able to shorten the cat section so they hang right where they need to.

and i dont know about the ebay headers (2nd link) the ones from the first link have been used a fair few times, search on here for "chinese headers"

yeah i know the 1st one been used alot. but nobody really never mention about them being low. i don't know if their cars are lowered like mines or if they really never cared to mention it. IDK. but im going to search again.
i might end up finding a shop to re weld my headers then shorting the downpipes.

              thanks for the help.

After having a STUPENDOUS battle with the welded exhaust on my car while doing shifter linkage work, I am going to have a new system built. There will be several places to take it apart at...what a hassle!

Slim, how low is your car? I know when i had bavauto long tube headers installed, mine scraped on a lot of things if i wasn't careful. But i still managed to ride over speedbumps without scrapping if i was aware, unless they were speed mountains, then i just avoid them

and you say that you scraping but did it ever broke your header? maybe mines was easier to break because they was shorties??? IKD. lol
