You should try running an oil restrictor at the turbo, to much oil pressure will leak past the seals.

If your looking for a 250whp turbo a a standard t3 super 60 will be good. I'm not to familiar with such small turbos but I still have knowledge on them. Never ever get those eBay turbos! U fail hard for that. If u want a cheap good turbo get a masterpower. I've used them on my first setups way back and even on one of the setups on my s2000. As far as using a oil restrictor don't unless your running a BB turbo it's not recomended. These are small goals for a 1.8 so I'll have to do the math on them and I'm sure these heads don't flow all to great ether huh? If you ever need any help with turbos and setup plz pm me I would be more than happy to help. I've boosted cars all my driving life and tuned them too.Tial, Precision, Garrett Dealer!!!
PM me for more info.

Not using the gt28 because I didn't want to change my down pipe and my manifold is a t3. I had the t3/t4 gone over. Replaced the bearings, seals and balanced it.
This turbo actually works very well on the car. On the dyno it held 9.5lbs all the way across the board with the stock waste gate. The goal for power is 240 or so, it is making about 200whp now. Not sure if turning it up 5psi will get me there, what do you think Nando?
I want to put more timing in it and turn up the boost to see what it will do.
Todd was running about 16 before he had problems. I want to try at least 14 and see how that goes. Still have to hook up a boost controller,
right now I just shortened the rod on the actuator.
It came out to 9.5 so I left it there.
I do need to swap diffs, the 4.10 is too much, need a 3.25 or so. Anyone want to trade?

also a "standard T3 super 60" is ancient stuff. even the GT series is a decade old..

I don't know, it's not like you can find good compressor maps for those ebay turbos. what it comes down to is the turbo might end up just producing more heat and backpressure at higher boost pressures - so you make less power instead of more. you can know that by looking at a compressor map and finding out where your engine will sit with that turbo.
try bumping it up a few PSI, just watch your intake and exhaust gas temps..

I've seen this car in person last summer at mukilteo beach. Very clean in person, I take the side vents as a personal touch. I think the car pulls them off very nicely. Can't wait to see this car in person again sometime.. i'll be listening for a turbo. I see you around quite often, I live right off of 164th, near ash way. Thanks Kid (Pinoy power), the car is running great now. The problem I had with the turbo leaking had to do with the catch can I had not letting the motor breath. The pressure was building up and pushing oil back out the turbo. I have the boost a 10psi now and it makes good power. I think I will enjoy that for now. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I think those numbers can be had by a stock M42. I would think you would be in the 16 to 20 psi range though. You may need to go muti-gasket and studs.

You won't like the 3.25 and definitely not the 2.93. I went from the stock 4.10 to a 3.73 and I HATED it. Better for driving around town, and definitely better mileage, but the fun factor was gone. Spool time was slower, acceleration was slower. Only plus was that highway top speed was better and there was more usable gear when dropping to 3rd on the highway."A good memory for quotes combined with a poor memory for attribution can lead to a false sense of originality."
