Thanks Matt, fingers crossed... I think it'll sound like your turbo with a little less bass grunt from the bottom end. The turbo spools at @2200rpm with a whoosh that sounds like a rattle snake stuck under a steel boot, on the dyno at least.
Yup... The tuning has been drama. Cold start and dumping fuel mostly, but with a second set of new injectors and COP instead of dizzy wires that always go bad I think Derek can get the issues under control... He is pretty meticulous, I think he went wire by wire through the harness to make sure there was no install issues when it comes time for tuning.
Ah.
I was contemplating picking up the S/C kit rms made for the s14, but am on the fence.

I've seen the AMS kit, it's very nice and everything is CNC fabbed in-house already, like I said though, I wouldn't trust a chip tune as every motor is different and ITB's are already a challenge to tune. For standalone one would need to choose something common to a tuner/dyno shop near you like AEM, MoTEC, Haltech, etc. MegaSquirt is a very competitive option but as a DIY EMS most dyno guys don't tune it... Go figure. Tuning is the hard part (to me) in my experience.

I drove a car with the kit and it was pretty interesting. Roll on the throttle and you get wheel spin in second gear up top. Was not expecting that at all. Although the tires may have been part of the equation.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
Yeah my custom turbo kit has been tested at @400whp at 11psi and it was said on ramps are challenging, loosing traction and propelling the car across lanes in third... I can't wait! Should start up today.
I'm sure a supercharger kit would have wheel spin off the line under 2k rpm easily. I've only had one s/c car but it was quick.
Update on my car Derek...? My car needs to be finished for dyno tuning at Castro's this week... I've been left twisting in the wind too long my friend. Honor your word.
Somehow I think, someone somewhere believes I'm to blame... Go figure!
To summarize where I am, other than stuck... Given the season, Derek is out of town for @week but he is a few hours away from completing the MegaSquirt3/MS3x integration. To take it back to Castro's to allow them time to wrap it up. All I know is after 2 years clean-up is extensive. Keep my poor project in your thoughts & prayers.
Thanks, it's been a long arduous road to get it, but hopefully the new year will yield results. The old MS2 v3.57 worked well for years but for whatever reason it couldn't hold a tune with the turbo on it. So we did some rearranging, full sequential, COP, High-Z injectors knock & boost control... Now we'll see.
Well, I payed my car and Derek a visit... It was sobering, to say the least. Aside from the 165 mile trip... Derek is making progress but MAN! How did my ///M car get so twisted!!
In the two years it has bounced around at Castro's / RMS it has collected more dust, sustained more dings, & mishaps than I care to mention. I'm hurt for the car, seeing it in its current condition. Derek assures me it will be great again... I'm sure he's right but I'm so frustrated. Just getting it up and running in the next couple weeks is the primary goal, for the inconvenience Derek is doing some finishing touches with lights, turn signals, dual boost solenoid etc. which I appreciate. But man it's depressing like watching a relative in the hospital recovering...
