Cleaned up the wiring with some wiring loom, zip tied it out of the way, shaved the coolant tank mounts and such. Make some metal headlight covers. Cold pipe mocked up here.

I got them from dude who went to solid mounts on his swap, not sure what they are but they have like metal cups without sides that the rubber sits into. Ill get pics.
Got some sheet metal, gonna go a little further on my engine bay shave since I have some extra time. Gonna do some stuff like custom headlight covers and stuff. Also ordered my boost, oil pressure, and wideband gaugesLeave a comment:

Loving that engine bay! So clean looking. Once again, if I had another car, mine would be getting done like this.Leave a comment:

Ready for motor to go in but I need to get a clutch first and possibly replace my trans seals. Also need new motor mounts.

Well, in that aspect it is more simple...but that is about it. Plus, who keeps A/C anyways? There goes a belt ;)Leave a comment:

I would do that with an m20, m10, m30 any day. Not if it was boosted though. But only if I knew the water pump, thermostat, radiator, and hoses were in good shape. The key to a successful turbo build is...making sure you have a solid base to build on. Maybe the m20 just wasn't well kept for, that's why you had so many problems with it (just a random guess seeing how so many have had success with it)
Only gripe about the m50 is that its not easy to change the head gasketLeave a comment:

Yeah turbo m20s are alot cheaper. But Ive dealt with so many more m20 N/A issues the M50 N/A issues. So id rather just diagnose turbo issues not have to make sure i dont have anything wrong with m50. Ive seen people do full m20 rebuilds and still have those usual m20 problems. Ive dailyed my m50 for a year with NO issues, for a matter of fact my cluster got fucked and Ive driven without a temp gauge for the past 2 months without worry, try doing that on an m20 lol.Leave a comment:

With getting as much stuff as possible USED your arent going to be able to do it for under 2500. Ive chosen not to keep track. If I do it for under 3500 Ill be happy. Buying new stuff will be over 5k without a doubt.
I started this thinking I could do it for 1800-2000, i was on crack. I now have to sell my jeep to finish this. Unlike a normal 24v swap or something there are so many individual pieces you need that you cant cheap out on.Leave a comment:
