right there with ya. spreadin the love across 4 E30s though. Gonna have to sell something so I can concentrate efforts a bit...

hell I still need to deal with the oil return line on this thing too. PO welded the oil return fitting too low so I will probably need to replace the pan.

Please take your charge pipes off until you get yourself a wideband.

any particular package you recommend? I prefer the analog gauges I guess. Can I just swap out the O2 sensor and fit the LC1 wideband sensor into the same bung?

        will search for more info.

EDIT these innovate dual use gauges are bad ass. pricey though.

This or the LC-1. Both are great. I had the LC-1 on my old setup, I went with the MTX for my new setup.

checked out the site, vids etc. lots of questions I hope you guys are willing to provide opinions on.

              1) so the mtx-l has the controller built in to the gauge. any other advantage?

              2) Is an AFR gauge really useful enough to mount permanently if you're not planning to be constantly tweaking the turbo setup?

              3) the PO put a parker performance gauge panel in place of the ashtray.

I could get a 3 gauge panel version and put in the AFR meter there, but I'm wondering if an mtx-l will fit? the gauge seems pretty deep from the pics. where have you guys mounted your mtx-ls?

                MTX is easier to wire.

No reason to not mount the gauge permanently...it's cool to be able to keep an eye on your AFR's.

I sell gauge panels. If you need one send me a pm!

wish i'd known - just ordered this 3 gauge version of the existing panel from parker (without gauges)

also grabbed a 15psi boost gauge to replace the existing 30. definitely not gonna go stage2/3 on this car - sorry to disappoint.

will the mtx-l fit in this space? anyone have the dims on it?

Imo its pretty un usable so far down from your normal field of vision. Center vent pods are much better and it fits fine up there. Jay makes good stuff.

I had gauges mounted in the ashtray area....definitely not convenient to look at while driving..but it works!

I can get some dimensions for you on the MTX. One sec.

if his stuff is as good as his advice so far I'm sure jaywood's gauge panels rock.

I completely agree the center vent gauge setup is definitely better. that dash is just rockin. diggin the tach, gauges in center and left... also looks like you've answered my mtx-l question - the gauge face is larger than the ones next to it. I'm sure it fits into a standard 2 1/16" hole, but looks like it takes up more room so it won't fit the 3 gauge setup.

with all this focus on gauge mounting, you can probably tell I'm not a hardcore perf mod / track guy. not stripping the car down of insulation and carpets, or doing PS/AC/heater deletes.. totally respect folks like F34R and their amazing rides. just not in the cards here.

so.. Ill take the crappy field of view for an occasional glance and retaining the a/c vents ;-)

You've gotta take into the account how far the wires stick out however...honestly I couldn't tell you that. It depends on how far you want to bend it.

The MTX fits in a 2 1/16" hole but you're right, the bezel is a big bigger

GREAT pic jaywood THANKS!! definitely too big for the console both face wise and depth wise. So for aesthetic reasons - insert groan from the pure perf dudes - a remote AFR gauge and LC-1 is probably it here.

So looks like a G5 gauge + LC-1 but damn it cost more than the MTX-L!? Cheapest was Amazon @ $225 w/Prime

will use this LC-1 installation guide, but will take a look at nando's comments in same thread about reusing the stock O2 sensor wiring and advanced programming startup settings. Definitely not planning to run this as a secondary display only sensor.

will post back here - or somewhere else if the OP comes back and claims his thread back ;-)

EDIT: and oh yeah, still need to fix the damn oil return before I end up having to buying a CHRA again.

eBay. Look there. MTX is $160 shipped with the gauge.
