Brand new, heavy fricken thing! Just need to modify my actuator rod as this one is longer and see how I'm gonna do the piping. Also might need to weld a new vband flange on as it's just a hair smaller... Will try to make it work first
I think something is a bit wrong though, i know its a big turbo but im getting quite a bit of lag. I mean when it gets to boost, its great....but getting there takes forever. Granted i have 3.73's so my gearing is short...but i build very little boost in first, 2'nd is better. There rest of the gears again are better but dosnt seem to be able to start building boost till about 4k, with my old turbo i could be in 5th and go to pass someone and boost just about as soon as i touch the throttle, not the case anymore. Any ideas to what it could be? Or am i gonna have to sell this guy and get something smaller?
Sadly, seems it was quicker with the ebay garbage due to the lag. Is my current tune killing spool?
Eh, i need some help...first turbo car.
From my reading it seems i should be spooling much quicker....
Im running an ebay crap manifold......im gonna have to drop some money on a twin scroll arent i? or is there a split pulse manifold i can pick up and not break the bank.
Hoping i find a nice big boost leak, if not i might have to sell this guy and go smaller....though i really dont feel like it. Was NOT fun mounting this beast up.
I mean when boost hits, she jumps from a few lb's to 18 psi quick! But just getting the thing to start to spool is killing me.
I don't have any first hand experience with the difference, but I have read from many places that the split pulse manifold does make a BIG difference in spool up time...

I havent been able to dial it in just yet with my ebc, going to switch to my smaller wastegate actuator as the holset one seems to be pretty stiff, turned up it will boost 20psi. Ive got it somewhat settled at around 15-18 but i didnt drive around enough to get it perfect.
Generally id like to set the low setting on my ebc to around 10psi or so, the high to around 16-18 psi
Also i could not find a correct restrictor so temp im running my -4an line to my turbo, oil pressure is about 50-60 psi when you get on it, from my reading too much oil pressure can increase spool time? But that badly?
