TD manifold 101: I'm ready to learn

First off, if you have a link with info, post it. T have tried to search and havent found much info.

Heres what I know: The manifold wont directly bolt up, but MonkeyMadness has the adapters to make it work. Other than that, Im pretty clueless. The flange looks like a T3, but I thought I read somewhere that it isnt a T3.

    Thanks in advance

Did you buy the one off Ebay that kept popping up?

Edit: I'll have to follow this, I've been curious.

I prefer to use the adapters from MM. The ports line up better, you have to do a ton of porting on the TD manifold and they still don't line up due to the mounting hole locations and lack of material to remove.

Here's an example of the way I like to build the setups...

from what i remember reading about the td manifold is two things. 1) the mani doesnt flow extremely well, and 2) it is so close to valve cover that you would have to run a smaller turbo (assuming internally wg'd since there isnt a provision for wg on the td mani).

I also read that chinese knock offs arent half bad and are on the cheap. I got a "custom" mani adapter for 220 shipped on here, rather then spend x ammount on the td manifold and y ammount on the adapter brackets.

EDIT: Saw what forcedfirebird did and that pretty much eliminated all the concerns I posted. But it seems for a person unfimilar with welding or fabbing would be better off just getting a known working ebay/custom manifold

Working on something for people who want to upgrade the TD manifold and not change the rest of their system.
