Chipped 2.7i is no where near 200 whp. How much boosted power depends on how you build the car

An E46 330Ci is barely 200whp. Please don't calculate horsepower like a ricer. And the fuel isn't going to affect your horsepower either, you don't have high enough compression in that motor to make a difference between low and high octane fuel.

I'm thinking you're not ready for forced induction. Your grasp on all of this is lacking quite badly.

Hey man, it's better to read through this forum and e30tech for some period of time then you'll get a clear idea about forced induction, then you're welcome to ask a specific question which is can be answered clearly ..

Go with this guys advice as well. Read up on boosting and then ask questions. It's all been done before.

Listen carefully - You have a low compression motor and a 2-valve head. You're not making 200whp on that thing. You're lucky if you're making 200bhp. And you don't need 98 octane either. Learn what octane is. Higher octane doesn't make more power unless you have the compression to extract it.

A lot of people boost a 2.7i build, the low compression and long stroke work well with boost.

I too am learning/beginning my turbo build, but if you are serious about this, do homework, buy "maximum boost" and join e30tech... No offense to r3v!

With a large cam (288 or a dual pattern - I hear good things about mr 325's) and a good tune you may be scraping 200 at the wheels on a good day with your mods... And not the eta bottom end

Excuse my redundancy too... Had to put in my .02

I know different countries got some really high compression eta's but a SETA would make it not that great. From what i've seen people with cams, headers, and a custom tune make about 170whp. If you had 10:1 CR i could see 200whp easy.

But to answer your question use dirty math. At 1bar of boost with a mild tune it should double your current horsepower. Now multiply to how many pounds of boost you plan on running to get your figure. Example, a healthy m20 will make 150whp NA. A turbo setup will give you 300whp at 1 bar, or 225 at 0.5bar
