When I was pulling into the parking lot there was a trail of coolant so it is trickling out of my overflow hose.... I dont understand why my car hates me so much...

uh.....I'm fairly certain that you don't want a milkshake. Because if you have one, you'll be a whole lot more pissed off than you are right now.

Have you checked for a milkshake yet? (Pull your dipstick, look for "milk" at the top end of your oil on it.) Headgasket leak could be pressurizing your cooling system and causing it to blow out of your cap. Depending on the size of the leak, you will notice white smoke from the tailpipe (steam) or you can pull your spark plugs and see which one is super clean

What exactly are the overheating issues you are having ? I'm reading that "it almost overheats", that fluid "runs out the over flow" & that you are "dumping coolant". None of that means anything.

If you over fill it, excess coolant will come out the overflow when it warms up. Does dumping coolant mean you find 2 gallons of coolant on the ground in the morning ? "Almost over heating usually means your gauge goes above halfway. That could be a faulty gauge, sending unit or bad connection, but in and of itself does not mean overheating.

You may have a leak but I dont read anything that says you are running hotter than normal.

            ^^ this

after a long drive mine will weep a bit of coolant out of the overflow (inconveniently, onto my solid rally skidplate, lol). And my gauge gets almost to 3/4 before my electric fan kicks in and gets it back below 1/2 (usually while sitting in grid at rallycrosses).

So how much is your leak? a little splash, a few drips, a gallon?
