Any experience with rebuilt harmonic dampers?

I've tried searching and I have not found anyone that has had their m20b25 harmonic damper rebuilt. It seems this service is pretty popular with the american V8 crowd and there are a couple shops in CA who do nothing else. I don't see anything that would make the m20 piece unique but am also not an expert on the topic. Anyone have info on the matter? Surely most of the original ones are getting pretty worn at this point.

Probably because they don't fail often, and there probably isn't anyone who makes a habit of rebuilds because the demand is so low. I've never heard of or seen someone get one rebuilt. Contact one of the shops and see if they'll rebuild it for you, the rubber part is molded but some of those shops may machine rubber from blanks for lower volume parts that aren't worth getting molding tooling made for. The properties of the rubber would be specific to the application but may not be specific to the part, the manufacturer may use the same material through a huge range of dampers and it might just be something readily available to a company that does this stuff.
