    Fuel hoses

I need to replace the 2 fuel injection hoses in the engine bay that go to the fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator. Part number is 16121180409. They appear to be 8x13mm, and I need about 2 meters to do both. I cannot for the life of me find any online aside from genuine bmw for these hoses. Bmw ones are $50 per meter. The CRP ones I used to get are discontinued and were like $10 per meter. What’s everyone going with for fuel hoses now?

i would only use Genuine BMW fuel hose. it's worth the cost, in my opinion, for the peace of mind.

I would also recommend OEM BMW hose. Even CRP hose does not compare in quality.

i installed the CRP fuel hose on my e28m5, it made it 3500 miles with almost all ethanol free fuel. the fuel hoses dry rotted and exploded, and almost burnt the car to the ground. never again...

BMW gets their hose from someone, and the line probably isn't completely proprietary. IIRC last time I looked up the info printed on BMW fuel line the main difference versus the CRP line was the reinforcement mesh material. I suggest you look at some photos of current or near current line, decipher the labelling, search for those terms, and buy something that is as close as you can to the spec. You can also report back if you do the research.

That pretty much solidifies that. If the quality difference is that big, I’m fine with getting genuine.

Pelican parts picture is CRP 8x13mm 5 bar hose. $10.75/meter. I can’t make out any marking on the actual hose to research it further.

ECS picture is genuine bmw hose $49.84/meter.

The braiding on the inside wall of the genuine hose is noticeably more tightly stitched, and it looks like it may have a thicker wall. If these are recent pictures of course.

Easy choice here, genuine for safety and quality. Thank you all for your responses

Yes that seems to be the general consensus on this thread. I also can’t risk burning down my new head that’s currently in transit from you guys, beyond excited for that to arrive!

Visit NAPA. I had mine replaced with some very good quality hoses they had in stock. It has been 5 years and no issues.

Gates Barricade, except the bent hoses to and from the fuel filter.

There was a thread about it.

Except, you'll get 2 hoses 1 m each if you buy 2 meters, or 5 hoses if you buy 5 m.
