I foolishy plugged up my valve cover vent once, and oil traveled all the way up the tube-of-death and leaked

      really

If you don't believe me, google positive crankcase ventilation (PCV).

dirtbleed, if you think you know better than hundred of engineers, whatever

the PCV system also helps evacuate water vapors and unbured hydrocarbon from the crankcase, which could dilute and spoil motor oil

and the EVAP canister will help fuel econimy

My goal was to eliminate hot oil vapored air in my throttle body and replace with cold fresh air. That aint rocket science. Not to plug the crankcase, just vent it somewhere else. I don't claim to be smarter than anyone. I thought it was an emmision issue. Reburning the vapors instead of releasing them in the atmosphere. If it's there for PCV then it stays. What is the setup for the spec E30's.

Having vacuum in the crankcase helps the piston rings seal better too.

I would only run an open breather on a race engine with lots of bore clearance and low-tension piston rings.

that's why I said to look up air/oil seperators. It's part of the PCV system, it just extracts the oil vapors out of the air before it goes back into the TB.

Moroso AIR/Oil Seperator. I see it's sealed to keep PCV, and the joe's was vented which won't keep the PCV.

That's cool. I have been looking for something like that ever since I had to clean the nasty, sticky, gummed-up oil from my intake manifold. That stuff can't be good for air flow.

It looks like it is only $99. I would be interested to see how you run the hoses for it and how you mount it.

dumb question, but where does the hose from the heater core lead to? i hit a ditch and after i got her out and started it, there is water coming out of the lower heater core hose, and i cant find where it came off from
