use splicer to connect feed tube from old res to new rad mountd res?
#13, in a late model car, comes up from the frame rail area. All you need to do is cut it at the frame rail, insert the splicer and add another length of hose to the m42 rez.

For those of you not running power steering (clearance issues i believe, not 100%), and want more cooling capacity, the E34 525i radiator is M20 sized and has the attached rez as well.

I still have my power steering, but I wouldn't have a problem with more cooling capacity. Would I be able to use the E34 unit?

My car is an early-body as well, which leads to another question. Do I need to swap to the late-model water pump to make this work?

I ot it from AC nico, im not sure of the LTL turns, i know it has quicker ratio at the egdes of the rack. and it was only 100 bucks

I dont think so, the way i understand it now you actully have a extra output on your waterpump ( for some god forsaken reason I have a early pump on my late car) THis output can be used to feed the res on the tank mounted radiator, becaused usually it is feeding the rez that is sitting attached to tthe inside of the engine bay

The late model radiator mount is only like $12 new, or you can always score one at the yards.

The E34 radiator will NOT fit.

Yes you would need a late model water pump as well.

So I would need an M42 radiator, with late-model water pump?

Let's keep this going, I'm still very interested in doing this. Any new info to report? I'm going to start looking for a good condition one soon, and start getting to work on this.

I've pretty much decided I have to do this to fit a proper shield on my intake. maybe I'll just go ahead and order the parts this week.

yes, but what about the smaller, two-groove pully that sits at the very end?
