And you will spend the better part of $800-$1000 on the pistons.
i'm doinga stock build i can get rare euro eta raised flat top pistons for 150 that are 11:1.

the only thing that i worry about with the schrick cam is that the valves will hit the pistons.
I also did alot of research on this but there isn't much out there because 11:1 eta pistons are supper rare. ya i would get a adjustable cam sprocket.

How can you expect to be successful at putting together a custom engine if you don't even know what "valve reliefs" in pistons are, or any of the other stuff you're asking us? I actually know about this subject but I had to stop myself from even trying to explain it to you, because I'm pretty sure there's no point.
well i know what valve reliefs are i was confused because i thought we were all on the same page with the euro pistons. there are no valve reliefs on these pisotns and the the lower dome of the731 i would have to have these machined. The guy who might be selling these to me ran a 885 head to lower the compression and the clearance.

Cutting valve reliefs is actually a simple job. There is a tool made that fits the valve guides perfect, almost looks like a valve, but it has carbide cutting teeth on it. Mount your head with this "valve" in it and mount the pistons rods etc like normal. Than you rotate this cutter as you move the piston up in the bore until you reach TDC. If one was skilled enough, you can actually turn a valve INTO a piston cutter by sharpening the valve itself and hardening it.

Actually I think I'm getting way too in depth for a thread like this haha, not everyone works in a machine shop :(

ya i'll just end up paying some one to do. to much pressure on me, i might fuck up. but i think im going to go with the 11:1 pistons cut them up so they work then up grade my valves and cams and port match to 'i' size and get a adj. cam sprocket and then call it done.........?

i've been down this exact same road with euro eta pistons/ 731 head/ etc, etc and i'm sure others here have to. i would recommend against using that piston and head combination... but i already told you that.

ya i know. i read your thread. i still don't know yet for sure if i want to do the 11.1 and go through all that work and money. I just want to get the most power out of a stock build. but i'm thinking i'm just going to leave the bottom end alone and just do the top end.
