I....did not realize this. I have to say, for what its worth, i replaced my o2 sensor and realized a huge gain in power and throttle response.sigpic 1987 325is

I replaced my intake elbow because there was a crack underneath and cleaned the icv.
I got her running pretty good but when i went for a drive around the block it started to hesitate again under throttle. I got it back to my house and cleaned the icv again. Waiting for it to dry and i'll see what happens.
I'm guessing it should be fine after this because the first time it was dirty as shit and the car run better, and the second time a little more debris came out.

I'm still having problems. It seems to run fine for a minute or two but then starts stumbling again. When i throttle it makes it worse and won't accelerate at all but when i let off the gas it seems to want to pull a little bit.
I'm gonna check the fuel filter but i'm not sure what else would cause it to run good-bad-good-bad.
any ideas, something i missed?
edit: its kind of like it keeps slipping into a loop.Last edited by ubernasty; 08-16-2010, 12:43 PM.

It still slips into "fits" where it hesitates and doesn't want to run tho... any ideas somebody? fuel filter, o2?

Check the AFM plug for shorts, etc. These were very similar symptoms to my car when my plug ( i have miller maf), had a short inside the plug boot. I would imagine the ICV should only affect idle, unless its stuck open, allowing un-metered air into the system. If its stuck closed, it would affect idle, but should not affect things above idle.
Glad you are on the way to having it running well again.

Update:
Took the car out tonight for a run around the block and everything seemed to be alright so i went for a longer drive.
Only problem i noticed was that the spot where it would break up and stumble around 4-5k rpm before has gotten significantly worse. It doesn't even want to pass 4-5k in a burnout anymore.
I'm guessing its still the o2 which has just gotten worse?
