There is, but to me they seem the same as the i tune (aka strokers with pistons similar to the i). MY car likes something totally different than I have seen from any .bin file that's circulating or read from the major chip suppliers.

EDIT: They are probably selling tunes that will work with a multitude of combinations. I am tuning my car for what it has (same with our local street tunes). You can't really sell fine tuning over the internet with Motronic, but you can sell an enhanced stock tune.

so is it just as simple as
            custom tune>stroker ship>no tune?

So I have a question on your 2.7i. Do you still use a eta harness and cluster? I'm considering doing this if there isn't a lot of wiring involved.

Right. A tune made for your car at your altitude with your mods etc is going to trump a "generalized" chip.

I still have the e cluster, I know when I am about to hit the limiter when the needle starts bouncing all over the place haha.

I swapped out the entire harness to the Motronic 1.3, it's really not tough. The most difficult part for the "non-mechanic" woudl be grinding the passage through the firewall to allow the larger ECU connector and wiring in the tach/econoguage in the glovebox, but it's only 2 wires.

Cool man, i think i'll look around for a place that can get me a tune.

and yeah, it's a pretty straight forward convertion. don't let the really simple electrical scare you. its easy enough to the point where, if it is over your head, you just come out of the project a little smarter

Good luck, most tuners don;t really mess with Motronic, might end up having to go to a Porsche place since the equipment is similar. Dyno tuners generally charge about $300 around here, specially seeing the dyno itself is about $150/hr. The guys like me at the place we take our cars, they will charge us $75 for 3 pulls and this last time they let us change the tune 4x, and we realized the inj were going static, otherwise they would have let at least one more lol. Been going there since they were one bay with a dyno in another bay, now they are up to 4 (really deep) bays and TONS of AWD cars going through there.
