    I was upset to see the half cut exhaust stud but i used my stud remover kit which worked perfect.

      Make sure that you didn't damage the end plug in the rocker shafts when you drove them out. If you they are damaged the shafts will need to be replaced.

      I use a tool that I made for this. The end of the driver has a recess for the end plug. But it can also be done using a socket that is just barely smaller than the shafts.
      The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        im going to replace them i used an extension to knock them out. they came out fairly easy.

          I pulled mine out by hand after I knocked them out slightly with an extension - came right off with no damage. I think a wooden dowel would be the best way to install new ones

            i didnt care bc i will replace them anyways. i want this head to be brand new when it goes on.

                  You dont need to hammer on the shafts. Remove the eccentrics, slide the rockers off the valves and the shafts slide out. Certainly you don't need to hammer the new ones in- its possible for the old ones to be bent or full of crud.
