I was upset to see the half cut exhaust stud but i used my stud remover kit which worked perfect.
My first head build ever :)

Make sure that you didn't damage the end plug in the rocker shafts when you drove them out. If you they are damaged the shafts will need to be replaced.everything going in will be new. 272 cam, springs, rocker shafts, everything here are some pics. the first thing i did was pull the exhaust manis off. the firts pic was a nice half cut off stud i pulled without breaking. :D. than i pulled off the oil line on the top which took an 8 mil wrench. than i went ahead and pulled out the rocker shaft seals, and took a long extension and knocked out the rocker shafts.
I use a tool that I made for this. The end of the driver has a recess for the end plug. But it can also be done using a socket that is just barely smaller than the shafts. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

You dont need to hammer on the shafts. Remove the eccentrics, slide the rockers off the valves and the shafts slide out. Certainly you don't need to hammer the new ones in- its possible for the old ones to be bent or full of crud.Comment
