could you possibly list what you have done. I can shop around for prices for stuff, but i am curious what all you have done. Does this include any machine work- 3 angle grind or port matching?
I can send you my price & part list tomorrow, you can use it as a reference (has part #'s and everything). the basic headwork (seats, pressure testing, surfacing, etc) were done to the head when I got it. what I did was replace all the old parts and put it together.

as far as the porting, if you can pay somebody to do it for you then do so. otherwise be prepared to spend some time on it! and I don't think there is a whole lot you can do to the intake ports (they're already almost as big as the gaskets), but the stock exhaust ports are terrible and could use lots of work.

Mine clicks good, but my valves are a little loose. How does your car idle now with the 284/272? Got a little lope? Which ECU do you have?

With the 153 mine seems to have a little problem when dropping to idle. It goes down but a tad to far, so it bumps up engine speed real fast for a second and then smooths out. I hear the 173 takes care of some of that.

I was at a redlight next to a guy in a big Dodge Ram and he actually asked me if I had an upgraded cam in my car. I laughed, and told him its just my valves.

All the muscle car guys go nuts when I pull up at Timmies here in Brampton. "Solid lifters and cammed!!!"

yeah, I love the idle though. it hovers at around 700rpm with a nice lope to it. I have a 526 ecu, doesn't seem to have much problem finding the idle, although it does drop down a little bit sometimes (no biggie though). I also retried that "Viper 2" chip (from the shady english guy), which sucked balls, the idle would wander all over the place and the car just had no power. right now I have a bavauto chip which works fine.

Thats awesome. After I re-did the valves everything got a little quieter. Before I had many car guys giving me second looks after pulling into a lot. Now its a bit more sleeper. The idle hasnt been terrible lately, but it is a little rich and doesnt have a lot of response. I have to get its emissions tested real soon. I'm not worried about the driving portion, but it wont pass an idle test. Going to have to figure that one out.

maybe a FPR? my car seems to be idling rich with the cam when it's cold, it never did before. I'll have it tuned properly eventually, but it's fine for now (what emissions tests?)

I thought about the regulator. I may go ahead and get another one for it just to eliminate the possibility. I take it you live in a real state without emission laws. I love maryland and its politics. My exhaust does need replaced, perhaps a good reason to do so since I've got a 2.5 inch cat in my garage.
