finished up the swap today, but no fuel is being pumped. swapped in a new pump and still nothing. motor cranks and there is spark, but disconnected the hose from the fpr and before the filter while cranking and found nothing. need this car running. ideas?

maybe it was unrelated, but we gave up and tried to hook an external battery to the pump, which sparked and started the pump. after that, the pump ran on the tank plug. maybe it just needed a good kick?1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug

If it sat for a bit, maybe, gas will varnish over time and can freeze pumps and injectors...
Have reversed the polarity on them in the past to get them moving.
Fill with fresh gas and change your filter.
