This is driving me nuts, but....does anyone know where I can find a reliable source on getting some M20 head studs? I'm trying to finish my turbo build and this is the last essential thing I need to at least drop the motor in. :hitler:

Some of the members on this forum sell them. In fact, one of them has it in his siggy how much he sells them for, and for which engines. I'm too lazy to look right now and find it for you though. -
PM nomade30 on e30tech. He's here too but checks in over there more often.Comment

I believe that the metric blues fad has faded away. O-ringed block with OEM head bolts seems to be an up and coming trend, with O-ringed block and ARP studs as the nuclear-attack option.Comment

When I was building my car the 'thing to do' was MLS gasket and stock bolts. Now it is O-ringed block, stock gasket, and ARP studs. facepalm.jpg-AlexComment

I run Metric Blue, You can get them from McMaster-Carr for about $30 for a set.
There's nothing wrong with them if your looking for a low buget under 10psi built.
but if you pushing the limit of the head and boost ARP is what you want..https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar...re-irs.356333/

I went ahead and got some metric blues. if I decide to boost more later, I will just replace it with some ARP head studs. got them from McMaster Carr after all.1989 325i - 2.7i, Holset H1C, 60lb injectors, whodwho MS-PNP.

Metric blues have been discussed a lot. They aren't really head bolts as much as they are bolts that happen to have the same length diameter and thread pitch as stock head bolts. They aren't much cheaper than stock either... I think it is like a $5 difference. IMO ARP>stock>metric blue.-AlexComment

Im just curious - how do stock, stretch type bolts rank over reusable metric blues? Don't the stockers let go with boost overtime anyways?
