**edited to correct Rotella weight** 5Toes caught my sleep deprived error.
I use Brad Penn 20/50 in my '83 635 Euro race car. I have a jug of Rotella 15/40 for my e30. I may just start using Brad Penn for it after the Rotella is gone.
please don't tell me you check your oil life based on the color.
I don't know if that was what he was saying, but it has *some* merit. The dirtier the oil is the more contaminants it has picked up (good I suppose), but also has those contaminants in it while it is doing the work of lubricating your engine (which has to be bad - but I'm no engineer).
I have to think that new clean oil is better for your engine than dirty oil. Now maybe he's saying that the particular oil has lots of detergents in it and is cleaning the carbon deposits quickly from inside his engine. That might be a benefit to that oil, but changing it when it is dirty still makes sense. Does it not?
