Good luck man! I wish I had the knowledge to help, haha. Can't wait to get back home and start working on my car! I want to go 2.8 at some point, but after reading this whole thread, I'm going to wait a long time before I even attempt anything like this. I'm going to buy an m20 this summer and disassemble the whole thing, just for fun and to get a good understanding of how these engines work. Can't wait to read more about your progress!

Make sure you have your evap purge line attached to the bottom of the throttle body.

Well if there's one thing you should learn from all of this, it is to be very meticulous! haha I normally am but I guess I must have just gotten lazy towards the end of all this.

Entirely. Gave the car to a shop and they couldn't get it figured out either. Ended up seizing the 2.7 and put a stock B25 in.

Well, clearly I don't know what I'm doing. I decided it would be best for me to quit throwing large sums of money at something and hoping it works.

                              +1

I've rebuilt engines in shop class back when I was in HS and know how much time and effort and double checking it takes to rebuild an engine PROPERLY. Consideirng this I knew from the first few pages of this thread that the OP was rushing and not using the correct tools and the venture would turn out like this

That being said, we all live and learn and I sure as hell woud not even consider a task such as this if I didnt' give myself a good 2 to 3 months of engine work (working on it a few hours a week) to ensure that everything was exactly as it needed to be. Oonly when you take you time and use the proper process and procedure will you get the best results.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!
