    Is there anyway to improves MPG on my Vert?

    I have an 88 cab that i drive 120 miles a day, is there anyway to improve my highway MPG? higher gears? I want get 35mpg if possible, i know it's possible on 318is, dunno about the M20 though.

    2.93 or longer gears is a good start

                    Swap the engine in from an Eta and a 2.93 diff. 30mpg is no problem!

                      But to answer your question, the 2.93 was found in the 86-87 325e and 88 Super Eta.

                        35 mpg is probably not possible, unless you hyper mile the hell out of an eta with longer gear ratio.

                        Regardless, the time and money to swap in the other engine is not worth it. Sell your car and go find a 318is that isn't a convertible. You'll get the best mileage in that e30.

                          - weight reduction
                          - higher tire pressure
                          - smaller/lighter wheels
