Pulse sensor on the spark plug wires

you can cut and rewire a spark plug wire with only pliers its pretty easy....
the only part that matters is the center of the wire.... you strip the rest off..... bend the center wire into the end peice... scrunch it so it stays put.
thats all i mean no tools are necessary but a spark plug crimper makes it easier.
I think i could do it with a steak knife.
i used to work with coaxial cable though so I understand the concept...
in the middle is the cable. use a razor blade and scrape off all the silicone and crap off the last inch of a wire and leave an inch of only bare wire.
put the puls plug on.
bend the inch of wire onto the next inch of wire that has a coating.
put the wire end on. crimp it ... thats all it is....
the rubber boot is just for protection.
an exacto or razor blade or sharp knife....
harbor frieght sells cheap tools for this too.Last edited by stamar; 03-01-2012, 12:58 AM.

I'm experiencing the exact same off-throttle lag after installing a set of 7mm Magnecor wires, and it takes 1 or 2 more seconds of cranking to the start the engine than it used to. I reinstalled the pulse sensor on wire #6 though.
I'll fiddle with it again tomorrow, but could I have ruined the pulse senor when I squeezed the new wire through it? Some plastic shavings came out from inside the hole that the wire goes through because it was such a tight fit. I made sure all the connections are tight and I don't have any check engine lights.1989 325i Lachssilber Sedan
