If you are talking about the scuff marks on the skirts, yes.

What is important is whether there is wear in the ring grooves.

Yes, if the ring grooves aren't worn.

i would use a micrometer to measure the wear on the skirts and the ring lands.

you should be able to find specs online.

The first step is a visual examination after cleaning. The edges of the grooves should be sharp. Then then you measure the width of the grooves with a gap micrometer at several points around the piston and compare that to the spec.

Not having an inside mic that small, I use a feeler gauge on the old rings-
if it's not way out, I spring for new rings, and check again.
A few thou over the max spec doesn't seem to cause a problem.

That said, I've only come across a few sets that weren't so worn in the skirts as to be unusable.
But I buy junk to start with.

Yes, they certainly look like ETA pistons. That's a lot of wear in my book. 3 of them are pretty scored.

Definitely ETA pistons... did the seller say they were 'i'?

I've got my old 'i' pistons laying around here somewhere, can't promise they aren't worn (never go them checked) but I'd let them go cheap. They're just laying around right now.
