Can i use a 1988 528e crank in an m20 stroker? is there any difference? doing mains and rod bearings too so i need to know if i need oversized bearings? will my 1986 e30 e rods work with this crank?
Considering they never made a 528e, I'd say nobody has used that crank before....
That being said, the 525e used an M20B27 engine, which is just a normal 2.7L so yes you can use it.
The 528i, made from 81-87, used an M30 engine which has a completely different crank.

I did a quick search to see what engine was in it and only looked at the euro models (by mistake). The 528e was only a north american model.
That's what I get for trying to be helpful :(
