    Intermittent Starting, one stall today

Sor reference for those looking back on this thread:
Starter solenoid going bad, replace starter (like said)
The stall was due to intake leaks

    Problem:
The car will sometimes just not start at all. I'll turn the key, nothing will happen except the dash lights turn on.

This used to happen like once a week or so, now it's like every few starts.

Sometimes I'll wait a second, be frustrated, then turn the key again and it turns on.
Sometimes I'll keep trying and then after like 5 minutes it'll start no problem.
Sometimes I'll wiggle the c101 and it'll turn on after I turn the key again, but there's no way of knowing that that does anything.

Today my car just shut off as I was coasting to an intersection. I came to a stop, tried to start it up, it did not crank like usual. It wasn't until I pushed it in the gas station with the help of a random fellow bmw owner, and I called aaa and a tow truck was on the way that the car started up like nothing had happened.

That was the first time it's done that, and I'm not sure if its related.

It seems the car has a mind of its own and only cranks/starts when it feels like it.

I've replaced a few different parts this summer including the c191 fuel injector harness (unrelated bucking issues), crank position sensor, fuel pump, main relay (cleaned relay contacts), fuel pump relay, fpr.

    Any input is greatly appreciated!

Starter solenoid fails more often when hot. Replace starter.

I had the same problems. Sometimes would not start after driving car for a while. Starts up every time in the morning tho. I replaced the starter with integrated solenoid and problem vanished.

With your car shutting off while coasting I would check all grounds in your car.

will take a look! I already replaced the engine ground this summer, I'll just have to test them all i guess?

Yep. These cars are getting old. The grounds can be quite corroded.
