Summit carries a generic filter relocation that will work perfectly. Here's the filter sandwich: Summit Racing Part Number:EAR-502ERL
But then for that wouldn't you have to get an adapter plate for the oil cooler lines as well?

The track data for a car w/o an oil cooler is that the oil doesn't get dangerously hot. Not that an oil cooler can't be of benefit. The OE cooler doesn't get good air flow and makes little difference. But an aftermarket larger cooler, mounted in front of the radiator, makes a noticeable difference. Especially if the thermostat in the oil filter adapter is defeated.Last edited by jlevie; 02-16-2013, 05:16 PM.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Had no oil cooler on my turbo car. If you don't track it your not gonna see high oil temps. No oil cooler and temps stayed low.
I did eventually run a cooler due to the car changing roles to basically a dedicated track/drift car. Bouncing off the limiter for a few minutes with a cooler and temps have yet to go over 180, I'm talking glowing headers and a glowing hot side on my turbo... I don't give this thing a break. I'm using a earls cooler paired with a relocation kit, with a Ford sandwich plate (thermostat controlled but has a bit of a bypass, figured the t stat would make sure it doesn't runntoo cold when I'm not on it..... Which it does regardless!) can't get oil temps past 140 on a cold night just driving around. That's paired with a wix 51515 filter which holds an extra quart of oil.
Expensive? Yes. But worth it for a car that will see the track. Esp a turbo car.

Having ordered a few 'Fragiola' parts, once-
Russell is good quality, consistent stuff. Likewise Goodridge, Earl's, Aeroquip...
'Fragiola', Summit house brand, Jegs house brand- not so much.
At all.
Spend a few extra bucks once, don't dump your crankcase contents at an inopportune time.
And yep, turbo plumbing can quickly outstrip the cost of a turbo, if you're determined to
do it right!
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves
