Hi I'm new to the e30 scene I've been doing some searching for an 885 head and it seems like there is two different 885 heads ??? My question is What is the difference ??

885 is 885 but u want the one from the 325i with dual valve springs and "k" cam."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

885 is the casting number, after casting the bare head is machined and this can be slightly different (dont SETA have some oil holes missing?) and the parts assembled can also be different (camshaft, valve springs etc can differ)89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

i have an 86 head on my 89 325i, I also have an 89 head stripped down. The casting is different between the two. more or so looks cosmetic. Still bolt up the same, dare say bmw superseeded the design to another manufacturer in the 80s. unsure if ports vary but externally they look slightly differentBoris - 89 E30 325i
