    cut out under WOT

MY car has done this 2 times now once getting on the freeway and once off of a light

It happens(ed) when accelerating hard (think going to 6k before each shift then full throttle) check engine light come on and it feels like the fuel gets cut off and the car lurches forward (rapid decel)

    engine is healthy otherwise

Check fuel pressure and inspect/ohm out your CPS.

I've had complete cut out issues at WOT like that with a bad coil.

Mine was intermittently doing this as well it was scary and extremely annoying... it only happened to me 3 times.. I never figured out EXACTLY what it was But after much maintenance and repairs later it has not done it in over a month so im prettu confident the issue has been resolved by one or many of the things ive done to the car

the only things i've done that i can possibly think would cause/fix this issue are the following

          fuel filter
          valve adjustment
          sealed up exhaust leak
          spark plugs
          cleaned icv
          fixed 2 vacuum leaks
changed tranny fluid which was extremely low
          changed oil
          cleaned fuel injectors
          rebuilt driveshaft
          cleaned afm flap/sensor
          cleaned intake boot
installed stock airbox and MANN air filter(had rusted ebay cone filter when the car presented this problem)
most maybe even all of these might not cause this issue but those are the only things i can possibly think of that i've done to the car that could have gotten rid of the issue..

btw when mine was doing this it really felt like the fuel just cut off.. the car would ALMOST stall, then upon trying to accelerate the car would not move at all like there was no fuel rpm's would not raise speed would not increase etc.. i needed to shut the car off and start it for it to go back to normal driving conditions.. this happened twice in the middle of an intersection :-\

i was thinking it was my TPS but i havent touched the TPS yet and it has not done it so if it happenes again i'll just replace the tps because i know for a fact its original

see if the tach drops when it happens. the computer may be losing timing data

so it seems to be happening @ 4000rpm at WOT
im thinking its the coil or TPS

would a bad battery ground cause this?

Potentially, a bad ground can cause the DME to misread sensors. Although the WOT pre-condition may imply this is not the case...

My bad ground issue caused an intermittent no start as the main relay was never receiving the grounded start signal.

I am currently having the cut out problem and have had the no start problem before. I know that my battery ground is very very corroded. Ill clean it and let you guys know if this is for sure another possible culprit.
