    M20 turbo randomly dying

I have a turbo m20 e30 on a megasquirt ecu and if I start the car the first time for the day it will start up just fine and it ll run great... but after about 30 minutes of driving the car will just randomly die and wont start ... i wait about an hour and it starts right back up . i know its not the fuel pump cause I have a fuel pressure gauge and it dosent drop down at all...

I thought it might be ignition related so I changed the coil to an msd blaster and that didn't help...

    any suggestions?

CPS may be flaking out at operating temp or you could have a bad engine harness (due to age). Jlevie has dealt with this before, maybe he'll chime in.

might want to check that the plastic clips that hold it to the timing cover are still there. it can rub on the water pump pulley and short out if they're not.

yea its not there, the PO ziptied it lol. but i don't see it rubbing on the waterpump pulley. hopefully changing out the wiring harness will be my last resort cause i feel like it will be alot of work but ill do it if that's what needs to be done.

Do you know of anyone that does custom harnesses? cause i don't want to buy a used one and i want something durable to withstand heat levels of my engine bay.

Check for plug fouling from running rich as well.

so I Found my problem it was my cps. the previous owner replaced with a non oem plastic cps and since the car has a turbo the engine bay temps would get pretty hot and cause the cps to malfunction so i replaced it with an Oem metal one and hasnt died since

Glad you resolved the issue and posted it up...hate it when threads die unresolved! Do you have a build thread? What turbo are you running and how do you like it?
