Sorry but how does this relate? If you're looking for a more direct comparison, try the M10 engine where VR hg's are used routinely to great effect (and are a hair bit more expensive then some other options).

I'm not disputing the quality difference, I'm disputing the negative stigma surrounding the VR gaskets. I've had them work fine for 50k many many times. Given the negative connotation around the VR's I tend to sell the elring upper kits (and oem or goetze standalone head gasket).

It seems too many people are milling heads that are not warped. You can only take so much off before the head becomes useless. A straight edge and a feeler gauge will tell you if it is within factory tolerances. If you shave it now, when it warps, you may have to throw it away.

Victor Reinz head gasket lacks sealing quality around main oil passage between cylinders 3 and 4 on the exhaust side. It will start leaking there within a year for sure. Many vendors state that VR is OEM, this just fools lots of people and job never gets done right.
