    victor reinz gaskets

Im doing a full gasket refresh on my m20b25 im about to swap into my 325e and dont know/ cant figure out where the o-rings and washers go.
    The 3 o-rings and 5 washers
I know 1 o-ring is for oil level sensor but the other two I don't have a clue.same for washers
    http://www.bmaparts.com/ShopByVehicl...et+Set&mode=PA

Also on the headgasket set there are two o-rings that are the same size and a very small o-ring i have no idea where they go

any and all help would be appreciated
    thanks!

orings might be for thermostat and cam cover or either end of the vent tube from block to manifold. might also be for the oil filter housing i need them in my hands to work out. goto the diagrams on real OEM they might help

i highly recommend getting a Goetze head gasket if you can, it is a much better quality item the ones that come in the kits. i only use Goetze or one from dealer which might be the same manufacturer. i use the one from kits for test fitting checking clearances

For sure. Those head gaskets leak like no other. Sure the oem BMW gasket may be expensive but worth the money to not have to do the job twice due to oil leaking. Goetze is better than the VR but still not the best.

used a victor reinz oil pan gasket on my 190.. its leaky, but more gasket sealer fixed it. I wouldn't use again though.

There is also a rubber o-ring for the drain tube running from the intake to the oil pan.

Sorry, but typically when someone complains of a VR hg leaking it's a red flag to me that they shouldn't be working on an engine.

Are there better HG's available? Sure. but if done correctly the VR's work fine.

This is so true. I have never once seen a VR HG last more than 25k miles. they have inferior construction. This is a fact with solid proof. I now only use Goetez or BMW HGs. Never once had or seen an issue with any engine I built using these gaskets.

Not decking the head after it has been off is probably the most likely culprit to a leaking HG.
