Fuel System Vibration Damper???

What the heck is this and where is it located? This screen shot comes directly from the Bentley manual for cars with Motronic engine management. Looks to be inline with the fuel system.

In the same section the manual says its purpose is to reduce vibration due to pulsating fuel injectors and pump.

Searched around and cant find any reference to it.

The eta had one, the i didn't, I seem to remember from taking apart one of each...

...and I THINK the logic was that the early cars batch fired all 6, while the later
EFI fired in batches of 3, and thus, didn't need it.

The eta's was right next to the external fuel pump, and was rusted to hell,
even though the rest of the car wasn't bad at all.

My i had one just in front of the fuel filter. It was a rusty POS and has been gone so long I forgot it was ever there.
