Have no idea why neither company includes them.
On a side note, we usually purchase the Elring kit and use at least a Goetz head gasket (preferably OEM BMW). They are better then the Elring and far superior to the VR.

Did I mention wrong?
The OEM is better then the Goetz, Goetz are superior to the VR or Elring. Here you can see Elring on bottom. Note the oil drain and head bolt share a passage (Elring has a metal "fire ring" around them), and the Elring has much thicker silicone line vs VR. Middle is VR, very thin silicone and no metal ring (still shares oil/bolt passage). Top is Goetz. This is the closest to OEM BMW with the very thick silicone and separated passages. The OEM BMW gasket has a black silicone seal in addition to the red, also separating the passages. So, again in order of best to worst OEM BMW > Goetz > Elring (Felpro is equivalent) > Victor Reinz
and to furthermore back up my information, see this thread...

I purchased several OEM gasket directly from BMW USA, they all looked like the ones in the e30tech link. A lot of dealers will pass the aftermarket as OEM - locals have even gotten the Goetz gaskets as "OEM" as most dealers will carry the aftermarket brands.
