    Oil Pump Drive

So, after doing my engine build through a builder. I noticed the oil intermediate drive shaft was not in the pump.

So, is there anyway without taking off the oil pan to put it back in?

can probably pull the cap off the side of the block, there is 1 bolt holding/clamping a black bracket on. you can get access to the two needle sleev bearings, the gear and the skinny hex shaft

So a professional engine builder did this? Scary. Wonder what else he forgot?!

We recently came across a high dollar M10 engine that had the main cap installed backwards...

it can't be the intermediate shaft (the timing belt won't go on without it) but the secondary gear & hex shaft that connects to the pump driveshaft. in any case, yes you can remove the cap on the side of the engine and put it on.

Do you have to remove the bearing thats in the block? I can't get it with the clips on the shaft.

I also dont have the timing belt on.
