I'm replacing the rear main seal on my E30, and I need some advice.
I bought both the "New" springless seal from Corteco and the Elring seal with the spring.
Which seal should I be using?
To remove the old gasket material, I'm going to try to find some Permatex Gasket Remover, or similar.
Now, for resealing everything, what should I be using? One of these or something else?
There are two areas to seal.
1. Between the carrier and seal (like this)
2. Between the carrier and the oilpan/block.
I've heard:
Any other suggestions/information you have about replacing the RMS would be welcome.
I've never done this before, and historically gaskets and myself do not get along well.

I've heard:
- Curil T
- Impossible to get around here
- Permatex "The Right Stuff"
- For Oil Pan (and also for RMS housing?)
- Permatex Ultra Grey (EDIT: I think that should be Ultimate Grey)
- Hondabond/Yamabond Grey
- I'll have to special order it from a motorcycle shop.
