    What plug is this?

This is the spot where the AC compressor should bolt on. The cord is fraying and will probably break soon. Is it an oil level sensor? Right side of picture is the plug in question.

Cool looks like it. Anyone know where I can find a replacement cable?

It's just 1 wire. When it finally breaks, it'll just turn your oil pressure dummy light on (or it won't ever come on - not sure which, actually).

Alright that's easy enough. I'll have to find something that won't melt. If I remove the plug temporarily to fab up the new wire, will the oil drain from that spot? Would I need to refill it substantially?

You can remove the wire without removing the plug. It has a little metal clip that slides in that holds it to the switch.

Just use a single 14GA wire and wrap it with electrical tape. It'll hold up with the heat- its the oil/coolant/grime that eats the wire up.

The oil pressure switch grounds that wire with low or nonexistent oil pressure, turning your oil light on in the instrument cluster. Damaging this wire will prevent the light from ever coming on, not the other way around.

And BTW since it wasn't answered: expect a drip or two of oil when you pull the switch... But not much more than that.
