Newly acquired 325i

Newly acquired 325i. Seems pretty good. Irregular idle issue with some hunting which maybe due to the ICV pipe where it enters the throttle body coming adrift - it's happier pushed in but slides out still. An appointment with some JB Weld tomorrow.

It's got a good service history with the BMW dealer up to 155k kilometres but last 50k kms missing. What should I look doing as part of a sensible maintenance program?

Appears to be recent ICV activity, possibly chasing the air leak and radiator hoses look recent-ish, albeit not kosher to my uneducated-about-M20 eye. Are these correct?

So there's a strange hose going to your waterpump and your icv looks to be backwards. The icv meters air by bypassing the throttle plate. How you have it set up is backwards.

I'd change the timing belt and possibly the water pump and tensioner. The timing belt has a freshness date AND mileage.

LOL. Those coolant pipes. I'd definitely change them to the stock configuration. And yeah, as uturn said, the icv is backwards. This engine bay is so fucky, I'd go through it and replace everything. Everything.

How about that timing belt, like, before you try starting it again?

Everything else will give you some warning. It's not an E36...

but yeah, dang, those hoses are... certainly... unique.

Is that fuel hose running just behind the coolant lines, over the valve cover and zip tied to the engine?
