Thanks all. From the tips and additional reading, the TPS and CPS are worth taking a further look at.

so today my car went from never bucking before to almost dying on the highway. CPS/TPS?

Is it just dying or bucking? Bucking is usually a loss of timing/spark. Dying is usually a loss of fuel.

it'll drive fine for a then I start getting the momentary rpm drops, then it starts really dropping and I get what sounds like misfires in the engine. I replaced the CPS and TPS and it's still doing it. my car is undriveable because of how long and how low the rpm goes and stays. and then out of nowhere it just goes back to normal for a little while then it happens again.

I have been finding a lot of sentiment in customer car fuel tanks as of late. One recently had so much, it was getting through the filter and clogging the screens on the injectors.

I've been having the same problem in my 88. I noticed it would only do it after I hit the reflectors on the freeway while changing lanes. And then it would do it on the on ramp when I am getting up to speed. I changed my Ignition coil and it ran bitchin for a day. After the coil change and a day later it started misfiring bad. I ordered the CPS and changed it out, Now the car runs kind of better. There still is a very intermittent stumble that occurs 2 times in each drive. I am still trying to figure out what is causing it. I have the 153 dme and every time it bucks the CEL comes on but its only for a split second and then it runs smooth again.
