Thanks for the tip, I think Bee has another head he can hook me up with so I can get that rebuilt and just swap them, would that make sense?

its easyer to get at it if the head is off. i would replace them all and beef the cam while you are at it.

it might be easier if the head is off BUT you have to pull the head off the car and that much more work than is required.

I had the same problem on my e30 the #3 rocker arm on the intake side broke. I would replace all the Rocker arms on that side not just the one that broke. If you have a broken rocker arm on the intake side you DO NOT need to pull the cylinder head to replace it.I am not sure about the exhaust side but on the intake side just tap the rocker shaft out through the cam gear (See photo)

Peace of mind from eliminating abused rockers on an interference motor: priceless.


Revs break rockers on these motors. Pull the head, replace them all (they all revved the same), and drive it for another 100k.
