    lets talk M30 AFM

So my brother and I test fit an M30 AFM into my car this afternoon, just to see if it worked, so there was no filter, and it had to be zip tied. However I would like to actually fit it properly into my car and was wondering where to get the right tubing that would connect the AFM to the intake manifold.

    Thanks
    Nick

on the i you just need to force the boot onto the afm. if you have the eta its not gonna work.

you can heat the boot up in hot water and stretch it over.

a reasonably new boot should be able to stretch over it but i wouldn't waste time if you have a original, i am using a boot from a 96 and up 328 without traction control, it takes a little tubing to route the idle control valve but its the right size, here's a shot of mine

Ok there's one thing that I'm still a little sketchy on. I was reading this writeup:http://www.davelength.net/car/bigsix.html
and he adds a fuel pressure regulator to the swap. Is that necissary for the injector swap.
Also, any pointers on mounting this new AFM and where I can find an inexpensive cone filter that'll fit it

          Thanks,
          Nick

You really don't need an AFPR. I ran my factory (3.0 Bar) FPR with 19LB injectors and never had any problems what so ever. Just make sure you follow the directions to the T. On mounting it, i'm using an L bracket for now until I can mount it in a better way.

i am using the 027 AFM, so I didn't have to change anything it pluged right up, I bought a K&N 3" cone on ebay for 30, heated up the stock rubber boot and stretched it and made a bracket to hold it up. Worth it, Get a 027 AFM

Hey, so you are in tacoma, huh?

We need to roll on the freeway, do a couple of 50-to-80MPH runs, see how much difference it makes.

You have to have a passenger, though, to equal the stereo in my car.

SO, if I run a M30 AFM, do I need to change to 19lb injectors, or can I just put on the AFM with a cone and call it quits?
